Our Mission
At Obermueller Pitching Development, our mission is to help your athlete reach the next level—safely and sustainably. We prioritize long-term development by focusing on proper mechanics, injury prevention, and individualized coaching.
Founded on the combined experience of former MLB pitcher Wes Obermueller and current Phillies pitcher Cade Obermueller, our academy brings together professional insight and modern-day playing experience. Cade, who developed into one of the top left-handed pitchers in the Big Ten, learned nearly everything he knows about the game from his dad—and now applies that same philosophy to his own coaching: mechanics first, velocity will follow.
Every pitcher is different, and that’s why we take a personalized approach to training. Pitching is a highly specific craft, and there’s no one-size-fits-all method. Our goal is to help each athlete discover the formula that works best for them—building a strong foundation for a long, healthy, and successful career on the mound.
Together, Wes and Cade offer a unique blend of experience, mentorship, and passion to help young pitchers thrive both physically and mentally—on and off the field.

Cade Obermueller a standout left-handed pitcher drafted in the second round as the 63rd pick in the 2025 draft for the Phillies Organizations, formerly for the University of Iowa and a rising leader in the world of pitching development. A lifelong student of the game, Cade learned nearly everything he knows about baseball from his dad, former MLB pitcher Wes Obermueller. That foundation—rooted in smart mechanics, intentional training, and long-term development—shaped Cade’s own philosophy as both a player and coach. Cade has a love for pitch design and using all the new technologies to assist his own careers development as well as using this to assist and train other young pitchers.
As Iowa’s Friday night starter, Cade has faced top collegiate competition and earned recognition for his command, velocity, and mental toughness on the mound. With a fastball sitting 93-95 and reaching 98 along with and elite slider with extreme spin rates he’s been named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week multiple times and was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 2024 MLB Draft before returning to Iowa to continue growing as an athlete and leader.
Now, Cade is bringing his experience and passion to the next generation through the Obermueller Pitching Development. He believes great pitchers are built through focused mechanics, consistent arm care, and a deep understanding of how to compete—just like his dad taught him. His coaching blends proven techniques with a personal, high-energy approach to help athletes improve safely and confidently.
Whether you're new to pitching or preparing for the next level, Cade offers high-level instruction built on real game experience, strong fundamentals, and a lifelong love for the game.
Core Values
Athlete-First Development. We prioritize the long-term health and success of every athlete. Our programs are designed to build skills safely and sustainibly, with an emphasis on injury prevention.
Precision and Mechanics. We believe in doing things the right way. Sound mechanics form the foundation for velocity, command, and durability on the mound.
Individualized Coaching. Every pitcher is unique. We tailor our training to fit each athlete’s strengths, needs, and goals- because one size does not fit all in pitching development.
Integrity and Trust. We build honest relationships with athletes and their families. Your trust matters, and we’re committed to transparency, communication, and consistent support.
Passion for the Game. We love baseball, and we bring that passion into every session. Our goal is to inspire young athletes to not only improve but enjoy the journey along the way.
